FAQs

FAQ: What is your top piano purchase recommendation?

Yamaha Arius - has the bench and music stand in addition to the piano. Scroll to the top of the page for all my top recommendations on gear!

FAQ: What if I have another piano purchase recommendation that I’m considering?

This piano buying guide is designed to supplement your research in purchasing a piano keyboard, as well as providing additional context for the instrument (via accessories) so that the playing experience is optimal. Whatever you purchase, I hope that this points you in the direction of the piano keyboard that best suits whoever will use it.

FAQ: Are these affiliate links?

No.

FAQ: What if I want to spend under $500 for something I can invest in for at least 4-5 years?

This piano buying guide is organized by budget tier so that you can easily total under $500, including the accessories. If for some reason you want to up the budget, there are plenty of other options in higher price ranges to choose from.

FAQ: Why did you recommend a seat for drumkits instead of a regular piano bench?

This was specific - after years of dealing with lack of back support while learning the instrument (started at age 4, now in my 30s), I spent time deeply researching and discussing with pianist colleagues on the best solution. The drum throne feels like a mini-office chair, and I would highly suggest selecting the throne over the bench.

FAQ: Do you teach music lessons?

Yes! Limited openings for piano and music theory & production courses are available virtually, in-person (NYC & LI areas), and in-home for applicants who inquire below.
